The Minister for Foreign Affairs travels to Türkiye on the fourth leg of his Middle Eastern nations tour

José Manuel Albares will meet his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, to discuss the humanitarian situation and violence in Gaza as well as mediation efforts between Russia and Ukraine

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares, begins a new stage of his Middle Eastern nations tour this Wednesday. This time, he is travelling to Ankara, where he is scheduled to meet with the Turkish Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan. 

They will discuss the violence in the region, the humanitarian situation in Gaza and possible steps towards peace. Minister Albares will also address Russia's aggression against Ukraine and will acknowledge the Turkish Government's mediation efforts between Russia and Ukraine.   

Defence and NATO cooperation will also be on the agenda for the meeting with Minister Fidan. 
The trip also has an economic aspect given the large number of Spanish companies operating in Türkiye. Albares will discuss this with the Minister for Treasury and Finance, Mehmet Şimşek.
