The Spanish Government recalls and restates its strongest condemnation of the atrocious Hamas terrorist attacks of 7 October 2023 and conveys its solidarity to the families and relatives of the victims, remembering especially Maya Villalobo and Iván Illaramendi, the two Spanish citizens killed during the terrorist attacks.
One year on, the Government expresses its solidarity towards the families of the hostages who are still being held captive and demands their immediate release. A ceasefire, the release of the hostages, humanitarian access to civilians and an end to the violence are necessary.
The Government reiterates its determination to combat anti-Semitism and all forms of hatred and discrimination.
The Government vows to continue to work towards peace in the Middle East and to advance in the implementation of the two-State solution of living side by side, in peace and security, which is the best guarantee of stability for everybody in the region.
