The A330 belonging to the Spanish Air and Space Force has arrived in Spain with the survivors rescued from the 'Argos Georgia’ fishing vessel

The Airbus A330 belonging to the 45th Air Force Group of the Spanish Air and Space Force, which the Government chartered to repatriate crew members from the 'Argos Georgia' fishing vessel, landed at the Santiago Military Airfield at 13:10.

Four of the surviving Spanish sailors landed, with one receiving treatment from members of the Air Evacuation Medical Unit (UMAER).

The plane is scheduled to take off for the Torrejón Air Base in a few minutes, with the other two Spanish observers and seven foreign sailors of different nationalities. A diplomat from the Consular Emergency Division accompanied them.

The repatriation is the result of an operation coordinated by the Ministries for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation and Defence.
