Any political leader can freely express its position as a political party representative in a full democracy such as Spain.
In any case, the position of the Spanish Government as a whole with regard to the terrorist attacks perpetrated by Hamas is clear: outright censure, a call for the immediate and unconditional release of hostages and acknowledgement of Israel's right to defend itself within the limits set by International Law and International Humanitarian Law.
The Government as a whole has consistently expressed the need to differentiate the Palestinian population from the Hamas terrorist group, to protect the civilian population of Gaza and the absolute necessity to maintain basic supplies that are essential to the well-being of the civilian population.
The Government in its entirety reiterates that the only viable solution to achieve a state of peace and stability in the region is the solution of two States living side by side in peace and safety, as endorsed by the United Nations.
