Spain expresses concern over raids on Guatemala's Supreme Electoral Tribunal

The Government of Spain expresses its concern at the raids on the premises of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal, which undermine the democratic will freely expressed by the Guatemalan people in the elections of 20 August.

Spain urges the Guatemalan authorities to put an end to the harassment of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal and calls on all institutions to fully respect the outcome of the elections and ensure the inauguration of Bernardo Arévalo as President of the Republic of Guatemala on 14 January.
