Violence escalates in Gaza

S​pain reiterates its concern at the escalation of violence taking place in Israel and in the occupied Palestinian territories, particularly in the Gaza Strip, which has left dozens of Palestinian and Israeli civilians dead or wounded.

A ceasefire is urgently required to avoid further loss of life. Spain urges the parties to respond to the Egyptian-led efforts in this regard, in order to progress in the stabilisation agreed in the Aqaba/Sharm El-Sheikh process and to resume the political path towards a just and long-lasting peace.
