The Counsellor of Culture, José María Robles Fraga, underlined the importance of initiatives such as Cartas Vivas as a means of keeping alive the ideas of key women in the cultural development of Spain and Latin America. Borja Baselga, Director of the Santander Foundation, explained the Foundation's commitment to a project that aims to recover the personal history of relevant intellectuals of the 20th century through their testimonies.
With the collaboration of the Professor from the University of Exeter, Nuria Capdevila-Argüelles, three new series of audiovisual cartas vivas were presented, corresponding to three artists: Delhy Tejero (1904-1968), Teresa Sánchez Gavito (1918-2000) and Amalia Avia (1930-2011). Actresses Sofía Monreal, Elena Sanz and Paula Rodríguez played the roles of the artists, reflecting their personalities and concerns.
Cartas Vivas is a free online audiovisual testimonial library. The project can be accessed through the website: https://cartasvivas.org/
