The Vice President of the Chamber, Mónica Fernández-Mejuto, took stock of the activities carried out by the Chamber in 2023 and presented the challenges for the new year, in which Spanish companies are expected to have a prominent role in the British market once again. One of the main events for 2024 will be the first SME Award, which will recognize the key role of small and medium companies in the field of innovation. The Chamber will also continue its support for different groups on key dates such as International Women's Day or LGTB+ Pride.
The Ambassador of Spain and Honorary President of the Chamber, José Pascual Marco, celebrated the intense economic and commercial relations between Spain and the United Kingdom, and congratulated the Chamber team for their excellent work. He also emphasized the strengthening of institutional relations between both countries and the participation of prominent representatives of the British Government, parliamentarians and Lords in the Chamber events.
Finally, Olaf Henricson-Bell, Director of the FCDO for the EU, praised the strong ties between the Spanish and British, bringing together exceptional commercial and economic harmony between both countries. He concluded his speech by highlighting the need to maintain cooperation in such a changing political moment with so much international instability.
