The Northern Irish politician explained that the DUP is working with the British Government to make the Windsor Framework Agreement more flexible. Donaldson mentioned that his main concern was possible divergence between EU law applied in Northern Ireland and British law, which could negatively affect Northern Ireland's ability to trade with the rest of the country.
The Ambassador praised the 25th Anniversary of the Friday Agreement that restored peace and stability to Northern Ireland, and congratulated Jeffrey Donaldson for his role in achieving this historic Agreement. Likewise, the Spanish representative expressed Spain's will that the Stormont institutions return to normality as soon as possible.
