The event was opened by the Ambassador, who thanked the President and the members of the British Spanish Society for their tireless commitment to Spain and Spanish culture, and their work as a bridge between the civil societies of both countries. For his part, the President of the British Spanish Society, Jimmy Burns, reviewed the institution's activities over the past year as well as future projects.
The British Spanish Society is a non-profit organization founded in 1916, which currently has more than 1 000 members. Throughout the year, the institution organizes cultural and social activities to bring the Spanish and British closer together. Its Scholarship Programme stands out, from which more than 100 British and Spanish postgraduate students have already benefited.
Murcia sponsored the event, offering a selection of its most characteristic products, from rice dishes to the popular paparajotes.
