Albares meets the Prime Minister of Qatar to boost investments in Spain

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation and Sheikh Mohamed Abdulrahman Al Thani have conducted the First Strategic Dialogue, following the agreement signed by President Pedro Sánchez during his visit to Doha in April.

The Strategic Dialogue is an annual meeting at foreign ministerial level with inter-ministerial participation to articulate the strategic relationship between the two countries. Minister José Manuel Albares chaired the political session, which reviewed the state of the bilateral relationship, as well as the regional and international situation.  

At the bilateral level, in the area of trade and investments, the main objective is to provide political backing to the negotiation of the APPRI (Agreement for Reciprocal Promotion and Protection of Investments) and, above all, to make progress in the creation of investment instruments. Other issues addressed in the sectoral meetings of the Strategic Dialogue included issues related to defence, security and justice, innovation, education and culture.  ​
