Albares presents Ibero-American Business Forum to be held as part of Madrid Summit

  • The forum will provide a platform to channel the region’s business sector’s vision, identify structural challenges and formulate recommendations that will enrich the summits’ agenda
Today

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, the European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares, today presented the Ibero-American Business Forum, which will take place in Madrid on 3 and 4 November, as part of the Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government on 4 and 5 November.

In his address, Albares emphasised that “in the face of fragmentation, the Community offers a space of trust; in the face of polarisation, a tradition of consensus; and in the face of challenges, a platform for building common responses”. The minister emphasised the importance of this meeting and the contributions of the participants, which make it possible to “foster alliances, identify opportunities and contribute concrete proposals to the Ibero-American process and the development of our societies”.

Organised by the Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB) in partnership with the Council of Ibero-American Business Leaders (CEIB) and the Spanish Confederation of Business Organisations (CEOE), this forum will provide a platform for channelling the views of the region’s business sector, identifying structural challenges and formulating recommendations that will enrich the summits’ agenda.

Since its inception in 2005, this gathering has brought together business leaders, public officials and key figures in economic and business development across Ibero-America. The conclusions drawn from these summits strengthen public-private partnerships and position Ibero-America as an influential player in the global economy, with a unique historical and cultural identity, whilst also serving as a natural bridge between Europe and Latin America.

The Ibero-American Business Forum in Madrid to be held in 2026 represents a strategic opportunity to reinforce the Ibero-American project and mobilise the business ecosystem towards a shared agenda of innovation, sustainable productive transformation and economic integration.
