Spain provides urgent medical care to seven injured people in the fire at a nightclub in North Macedonia

The Ministry of Health, in coordination with INGESA and the Spanish embassy in Skopje, has organised a transfer and medical assistance operation of the highest priority. 
The plane carrying the seven injured is scheduled to land at the Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport at 9:00 p.m. tonight. 
The patients will be transferred to the La Paz Hospital, which has a nationally renowned Burns Unit, and to the Getafe Hospital.

In response to the request for help from the Government of North Macedonia, through the European Union Emergency Response Coordination Centre (ERCC) and in collaboration with Civil Protection, the Ministry of Health has arranged for the reception and care of seven patients injured in the tragic fire that occurred last Sunday in a nightclub in the city of Kocani. 

The Ministry of Health, with the collaboration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has organised a transfer and medical assistance operation of the highest priority in coordination with INGESA and with the support of various national institutions. 

For its part, the La Paz Hospital offered to take in some of the injured patients through the Madrid Regional Ministry of ​Health, collaborating in the medical care they require, the La Paz Burns Unit being a centre of reference at the national level. 

The injured will be transferred on a Norwegian medical plane. The aircraft will depart from Oslo this morning, making a stopover in Skopje, capital of North Macedonia, to pick up the patients. The plane is expected to land at the Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport at 9:00 p.m. this Thursday. 

The operation has the collaboration of the European Union Emergency Response Coordination Centre (ERCC), the Ministries of the Interior and Foreign Affairs, the Regional Ministry of Health of the Community of Madrid and Civil Protection. After their arrival in Madrid, the patients will be transferred to the La Paz Hospital and the Getafe Hospital, receiving the assistance and supervision of the SUMMA, guaranteeing the necessary medical attention immediately. 

The collaboration and coordination demonstrated in this operation is an example of our country's solidarity response with the international community at critical moments.
