The Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares, will visit Africa House tomorrow, where Africa Day will be celebrated, which is commemorated on 25 May each year and which, on this occasion, he wanted to celebrate at the public diplomacy institution that seeks to forge closer relations between Spain and Africa.
José Manuel Albares will travel to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, where he will take part in the events for Africa Day, including a lunch that will gather together the African ambassadors to review the challenges that the government’s foreign policy has established within the framework of the “12th Africa House Diplomatic Council”.
Prior to this meeting, Minister Albares also plans to meet in Tenerife with the President of the Regional Government of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, with whom he will review issues of special interest for the islands and address different aspects of Spain’s foreign projection through the Canary Islands, particularly as a platform towards Africa.
José Manuel Albares will also take the opportunity of his visit to hold meetings with other regional and local authorities, and to give a press briefing to report on the content of his visit.
