The Spanish Government welcomes the announcement of the ceasefire agreement between the Syrian Government and the Syrian Democratic Forces, an essential step towards stability in Syria, ending the violence, moving towards a definitive cessation of hostilities and greater access to humanitarian aid.

Spain reiterates its firm commitment to a ​peaceful, inclusive political transition that fully respects the rights of all Syrians, without exclusion or discrimination. Only a process that listens to all parties and guarantees the effective participation of Syrian society as a whole can lay the foundations for lasting peace.
