Spain welcomes the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice on the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories

Spain welcomes the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice in response to the petition made by the UN General Assembly to assess the consequences of the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories.

The opinion includes important decisions made by the Court on the illegality of the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories and on the settlements, among other aspects.

Spain has participated in both the written and verbal stages of this advisory procedure.

The Government urges the UN as well as the international community to take into consideration the conclusions of the opinion and to adopt the appropriate measures in this regard.
