Statement on the attack on two Jordanian humanitarian aid convoys bound for Gaza

The Spanish Government condemns the attack on 1 May by violent settlers on two Jordanian humanitarian aid convoys bound for Gaza. Action by the Israeli authorities, following the arrest of those responsible, remains essential to ensure secure conditions for humanitarian access.

The protection of humanitarian workers is an obligation under international humanitarian law. 

The Government welcomes the Jordanian G​overnment's efforts to facilitate the necessary delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
