It would also like to extend its congratulations to the candidates elected in the legislative elections that will form the new National Assembly, and to the Ecuadorian people and institutions for the overall electoral process, proving their firm commitment to democracy, despite the difficult security circumstances the elections were held in.
Spain will continue to strengthen its close relationship with Ecuador, to promote the well-being and prosperity of our citizens, based on the close economic, demographic, cultural and historical ties that unite our peoples and their deeply held common values.
It also reiterates its desire to deepen its bilateral agenda and to work together in the Ibero-American and multilateral sphere with the new government, particularly in view of the next Ibero-American Summit to be hosted by Ecuador in 2024, to jointly address major global challenges.
