The Government of Spain rejects the actions carried out by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Guatemala, intentionally aimed at replacing the functions of the Superior Electoral Tribunal and questioning the results of the Guatemalan electoral process.
The persistent questioning by the Public Prosecutor's Office of the official pronouncements of both the competent bodies on the Guatemalan electoral process and those made by the various Electoral Observation Missions that declared the cleanliness of the observed elections must cease.
The will of the Guatemalan people expressed at the ballot box must be respected.
