Condemnation of attacks on Kyiv by Russian Armed Forces

Spain strongly condemns today’s attacks carried out by Russian Armed Forces on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities, and those carried out on early Sunday morning on residential areas in the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia. These attacks have killed many people and injured dozens of others among the civilian population, including children.

Those responsible for these attacks must be held accountable.

The Government of Spain calls on the Russian authorities to respect the basic principles of international law, particularly international humanitarian law and human rights, and to cease their attacks on the Ukrainian population, residential areas and civilian targets and basic infrastructure.

Spain once again stresses its firm support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognised borders and again calls on Russia to halt its armed aggression and proceed to the immediate, complete and unconditional withdrawal of its troops from all Ukrainian territory.
