The Communication Office of the Permanent Mission of Spain to the United Nations is not in charge of accreditation of media workers to the United Nations; this is the responsibility of the Media Accreditation and Liaison Unit.
Information on the
requirements for new applicants for accreditation, as well as the procedure to follow, can be found on the UN website. If, on the other hand, you have already received accreditation within the last 60 days and simply need to
renew your accreditation, you must update your registered information and submit the Renewal Application online profile form. You can access your account
here.
Please note that the United Nations advises that accreditation must be processed at least 24 hours in advance, but advises that it should be requested and picked up as soon as possible to avoid long lines and unnecessary delays.
It should also be noted that there are different
types of accreditation, so you should check which one applies to you.
Once your application has been approved, if approved, the United Nations will send a confirmation to the e-mail address provided in the personal information form.
If you do not receive an e-mail or phone call within one business week regarding the submission of your letter of request, you may contact the Accreditation and Media Liaison Unit at +1 (212) 963-6934.
Once your credentials are ready, you must pick them up at the Press Accreditation Office or the Pass and Identification Unit, as appropriate, with the following
documentation.
Credentials are initially issued for a period of four months, followed by an annual renewal application.
