Statement on the Cyberattacks against Albania

Spain deplores the cyberattacks that took place against Albania in July, which targeted critical infrastructures and government agencies in the country.

Such activities in cyberspace aimed at destabilizing a NATO ally and a candidate for membership of the EU go against the internationally agreed norms of responsible state behavior in cyberspace and are therefore entirely unacceptable.

Spain wishes to express its profound solidarity with the Government and people of Albania, and stands ready besides our NATO allies and EU partners to provide the assistance that will enable Albania to overcome the consequences of this serious incident.
