The Juan Sebastián de Elcano carries out an annual training cruise as part of the drill programme for the midshipmen of the Naval Military School, in which it sails to various countries. This year, the ship will make a stopover in London from 1st -5th July, at the Thames Quay, West India Docks, Isle of Dogs (E14 9SG).

Schedule:
• Tuesday, 2nd July, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (the schedule may change due to unexpected circumstances).
• Thursday, 4th July, from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 15:00 to 20:00 (the schedule may change due to unexpected circumstances).
People who wish to visit the ship must wear appropriate footwear and have sufficient mobility in order to access it.
Stand and pledge before the flag on board
Spaniards who wish to take an oath or pledge before the flag of Spain on the ship may do so in accordance with the requirements of Order DEF/1445/2004, of 16th May, adapted by Order DEF/8/2017, of 9th January. Thet oath ceremony will take place on Tuesday the 2nd July at 11 in the morning.
Those interested must complete the application form Oath or Pledge before the Flag of Spain Form.pdf, attaching a personal identification document, and send it to the following email of the Defence Attaché Office of the Spanish Embassy in London. jselondres@mde.es
The maximum number of those who wish to take the oath is limited due to space, so only one (1) person is allowed to accompany the pledger in an exceptional case Guest or companion form.pdf.
The deadline to send the forms will be from 20th -30th May. Those admitted will receive an email confirmation with the ceremony details.
• Tuesday, 2nd July (only for authorized personnel):
-10:00: celebration of the Holy Mass on board (voluntary attendance).
-11:00: start of the Flag Oath Ceremony
