The Ambassador, José Pascual Marco, recalled the history of the British Spanish Society, highlighting its cultural and educational activity. He also had some warm words to say about Jimmy Burns, who will step down from this role as President of the Society after almost 15 successful years.
Burns, for his part, thanked all those who are and have been involved with the association, reiterating his commitment to continue working to bring Spain and the United Kingdom even closer together.
Attendees enjoyed products from Extremadura. An innovative menu was prepared by prestigious chefs from the region, giving the opportunity to experience the great quality of Extremaduran food.
The British Spanish Society was founded in 1916 under the name of the Anglo-Spanish League with the aim of promoting Spanish-British relations.
