Women in Struggle: Democracy and Feminism in the Late Franco Era (1965-1975)

El Club de las 25 presented its project at the Embassy in collaboration with the Instituto Cervantes

​​The Ambassador, José Pascual Marco, praised the project and welcomed the evolution of the role of women in Spanish society. Julia Pérez Correa, coordinator of the research and member of the club, explained the objectives of the activity and introduced the documentary Women in struggle. For her part, the researcher, Irene Barrero García, analysed the historical background of this period.

Later, a round table was held led by Isabel Mastrodoménico, member of El Club de las 25, in which the experts in feminism and gender issues Abigail Loxham, Nuria Capdevila-Argüelles and Ana Baeza Ruiz, addressed Spanish feminism during 1965-75.

Women in Struggle: Democracy and Feminism in the Late Franco Era (1965-1975) seek to research, recover and compile material that makes visible feminism and its contributions to democracy during these years.

El Club de las 25 is a feminist collective made up of women from all walks of life dedicated to the fight for equality and the visibility of the role of women in different professional fields.
