One of the most important tourist fairs in the world is held in London from November 7th – 9th. This year again, Spain has a prominent role with the Turespaña stand and the presence of several Autonomous Communities. The Secretary of State, accompanied by the Ambassador, promoted the Spanish tourist market and gave several interviews to dedicated media in which he highlighted the recovery of tourism in Spain after the pandemic, and the commitment to a sustainable and creative model.
The Embassy also hosted an event between the British tour operators and the Spanish authorities. As the Secretary of State for Tourism pointed out, the British market is of great relevance for Spain. Last year British tourism reached 85% of its pre pandemic levels, and in 2023 numbers are expected to exceed. The Ambassador, for his part, highlighted tourism as one of the best examples of close ties between Spanish and British civil societies, and of the affinity of our people.
