The Ambassador of Spain and the Cultural Attaché were welcomed by the Principal of King's College, Professor Shitij Kapur, who explained the functioning and main commitments of the centre. The Ambassador, for his part, offered to establish links with Spanish educational institutions.
At the Maughan Library at Kings College, the Embassy group looked at the Special Collections, which included historical documents on Spanish-British relations.
The Ambassador also spoke with the students of the Hispanic-Portuguese Association, and got to know the Hispanic Department.
Finally, Ambassador Marco gave a conference on the links between Spain and the United Kingdom, in which the students showed their interest in Spain's European policy.
The visit to King's College is part of a programme for bringing the Embassy closer to British higher education centres. This year the Ambassador has been to the Universities of Oxford, Edinburgh, University College London (UCL), London School of Economics (LSE), and Imperial College. Visits to the Universities of Cambridge, Exeter, Cardiff, Manchester and Liverpool are planned for the foreseeable future.
