The event served to reflect on the activity and challenges of the Spanish wine industry. Three new knights of the Order were also recognised: Almudena Alberca, oenologist and Ambassador of the Oeno brand; Amaya Cervera, founder and editor of the Spanish Wine Lover publication, and Hal Wilson, owner of Cambridge Wine Merchants and a great connoisseur of Spanish wines.
The celebration closed with a speech given by the Ambassador, José Pascual Marco, who highlighted the importance of the British market, which is one of the main destinations for Spanish wines.
The Gran Orden de Caballeros del Vino was founded in 1984 to recognise those persons who promote and spread Spanish wine culture in the United Kingdom.
