The Minister held a meeting at the Embassy with Spanish chefs and food importers, who shared their experiences in the British market, particularly after Brexit.
Mr. Planas also met with his British counterpart, Steve Reed. Both confirmed the fluid bilateral agricultural-food relationship, and the weight of Spanish agricultural-food imports to the United Kingdom.
The Minister concluded his trip with a speech at the Food Nation Summit, in which he highlighted the international impact of Spanish food due to its high quality and contribution to a balanced and healthy diet.
Spain exported more than 4.8 billion euros in food and beverages to the United Kingdom in 2023. The British country was the fifth largest importer of Spanish agricultural-food products and the first outside the European Union.
