On arrival they began with speeches given by Captain Luis Carreras-Presas do Campo, Commander of the ship, and the Ambassador, José Pascual Marco, who highlighted the great expectation amongst the Spanish community and praised the ship's role as a symbol of Spain.
During their stay at the port of Canary Wharf, a reception was held on board including an oath ceremony before the flag, and Spanish and British people visited the ship during the open days. The Embassy also hosted a reception with the midshipmen of the training ship, and a representation of young Spanish professionals working in the United Kingdom.
Finally, a conference on navigation and sustainability was held, organised by the Cervantes Institute.
