IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING THE VALIDITY OF TRANSLATIONS IN SPAIN:
As a general rule, a translation is only considered "official"—and therefore valid for submission to any Spanish government authority if it has been prepared by:
- a Sworn Translator/Interpreter (*Intérprete Jurado*) appointed by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation (please note that, as of today, there are no authorized Sworn Translators for the Vietnamese language in Spain);
- the diplomatic or consular mission in Spain of the country that issued the document (Embassy of Vietnam in Spain: Avenida Alfonso XIII, 54, 28016 Madrid; Tel: 91 510 2867; Fax: 91 415 70 67; Email: vnemb.es@mofa.gov.vn, embavietnam.madrid@yahoo.com, or embavietnam@yahoo.com); or
- a Spanish diplomatic or consular mission abroad (please note that the Embassy of Spain in Vietnam does not provide translation services).
Translations prepared by local (non-sworn) translators may be rejected by Spanish government authorities, even if they have been properly legalized or apostilled.
The Embassy of Spain does not provide interpretation services or perform official translations. For information purposes, the Embassy of Spain can provide information on official interpreters and translators who offer their services in this consular area. The Consular Office does not maintain any contractual or professional relationship with these translators and interpreters and does not assume any responsibility for the results of their professional performance.
